    Satyrium parviflorum
    Author: Ivan Lätti
    Photographer: Judd Kirkel Welwitch

This robust flower spike of Satyrium parviflorum was found in January near the Lesotho border in the Mkhomazi Wilderness Area of the KwaZulu-Natal Drakensberg. It grows in grassland, here among some large boulders. The flowers are much more densely compacted on the cylindrical stalk than in another flower spike photo given in this Album. The flowers are small, their yellow, rounded hoods conspicuous, making quite a show (iSpot).
