This busy Muraltia spinosa plant is producing fruit while still flowering. The fruits are young and green, probably not quite full size yet. The plant was photographed on the west coast south of Saldanha during August.

Some of the sepals are pinkish at the bases of these developing fruits. The flower of M. spinosa has two petal-coloured sepals among the green ones and longer than the others (Vlok and Schutte-Vlok 2010; Manning, 2007).
