    This clump of young Encephalartos senticosus leaf rosettes emerging from the same underground base shows how suckering from the main stem may produce multiple stems growing close together.

    The leaf rachides are yellow, the ascending green leaflets glossy on the flourishing green leaves. A leaf rachis is generally about straight in this species (Hugo, 2014; Coates Palgrave, 2002; iNaturalist; www.plantzafrica.com).
