    Pseudoselago subglabra starting to flower
    Author: Ivan Lätti
    Photographer: Judd Kirkel Welwitch

The first flower of Pseudoselago subglabra has opened here, some buds are swollen and nearly there. Narrow bracts subtending the flower calyces protrude past the buds at this stage still. They are dark green and curving inwards among the buds, covering them in the early developmental stages close to the centre of each cluster. The photo was taken near Tulbagh during October (Manning, 2007).
