Cheerful leaf colouring is present upon this young stem tip of Leucadendron strobilinum. The reddish colour in the upper parts of stem tip leaves is repeated on the upper stems themselves. Leaves in the photo appear to have very little petiole to speak of, if any.

The elliptic leaves display their finely woolly margins as well as the outward twist to their pointed tips. Leaves become 6,7 cm long on male plants, 8 cm on female plants (Manning, 2007).
