The opposite leaves of Plectranthus saccatus are small, growing on long petioles. Leaf pairs are decussate, i.e. they grow at right angles to adjacent pairs on the stem. Their shape is ovate with an acutely pointed tip and square base. Leaf margins are conspicuously toothed.
The leaf is soft and flat, its upper surface coarse and dull green in the photo. The lower leaf surface is covered in scattered gland dots. The visible midrib is recessed on the upper surface, the lateral veins curving in slightly (Eliovson, 1984; www.plantzafrica.com).
