    These Encephalartos princeps leaves show very little toothing upon lower margins of leaflets. The leaflets are either straight tapering to acutely pointed tips, or display slight upward twisting of the leaflet tip. Yellow colouring is seen on some leaves in picture, not consistent with the typical silvery blue of young leaflets. The incubous overlapping of leaflets is consistently seen.

    Leaf base diameter is smaller than those of E. lehmannii, a related species, and the rachises narrower.

    A wasp nest hangs from a leaf in the photo (Hugo, 2014; Coates Palgrave, 2002; iNaturalist).
