    Dark purple spots may occur on all three sepals of the corolla as well as on the ovary of a Disa saxicola flower.

    The pointed tips and margins of the floral bracts are reddish purple in the photo. On some D. saxicola flowers the pedicels and ovaries assume a similar colour, while in picture they are green apart from their spots (at this stage).

    The spurs are nearly straight in the photo, pale green in colour without spots (Pooley, 1998; http://orchids.wikia.com).
