    Disa stachyoides flower details
    Author: Ivan Lätti
    Photographer: Judd Kirkel Welwitch

The flowers of Disa stachyoides seen here show the pouched tips of their sepals, the outer segments of the flower perianths. The ovaries and floral bract tips present two shades of purple, the former redder than the corolla, the latter bluer.

The small petals are inside the dorsal sepal or hood, flanking the column. Some bulging, club-shaped spurs are to be seen in the photo, protruding from the backs of a few dorsal sepals (Pooley, 1998; Onderstall, 1984; iNaturalist).
