    Author: Ivan Lätti
    Photographer: Judd Kirkel Welwitch

The flowers of Eulophia cucullata in the picture display several features that may be taken as horticultural positives. The variations in colour and elegantly curving shapes among the tepals must count among those.

Note the parallel vein lines on sepals and petals, faint in the periphery of the petals, strong in the centre. Thin, dried bracts are present on the flowering stalk, emerging at the base of each slightly bent ovary. The lustrous golden corolla interiors with speckled surfaces command the eye (Pooley, 1998; www.zimbabweflora.co.zw).
