The pair of basal leaves of Habenaria mossii are positioned flat on the ground. They are broadly ovate to rounded, sheathing the stem. A few lance-shaped stem leaves with acutely pointed tips are spaced up the flower stem, grading into the inflorescence as floral bracts (www.orchidspecies.com).
