Holothrix scopularia inflorescence

Holothrix scopularia flowers grow on one side of the annual stem that reaches about 33 cm in height. The plants, sometimes slender, may also be robust.

Soft, long hairs are visible on the dark coloured stem in the photo; the sepals are woolly as well. The small flowers have conspicuous lips of about 9 mm long, divided into about 11 thin lobes. Flowering happens from mid-spring to midsummer (Pooley, 1998; iNaturalist).
