Huttonaea grandiflora flowers have small, ovate bracts with acutely pointed tips subtending them. The sepals are small; the dorsal one oblong to ovate, the lateral pair that spreads sideways broadly ovate, but obliquely so with fringed margins.
In picture they are greenish with pointed tips visible behind the purple-spotted lower petal parts. The lip and petals also have green patches in the photo (Pooley, 1998; www.africanorchids.dk).
