Disa bifida leaves

The leaves of Disa bifida in picture are crowded rosette-like near the base of the stem. They are elliptic to obovate, tapering to tip and base and hairless.

Leaf surfaces are blue-green with broad lemon-yellow midribs. Scattered, irregularly shaped black blotches are present next to these midribs, not on them. The maroon leaf margins have some delicately wavy parts. The leaves are only 1 cm to 2 cm long and 0,5 cm to 1 cm wide.

There are also small, spaced leaves or leaf-like sheaths higher up on the stem, inconspicuous and lance-shaped, adhering to the stem (Liltved and Johnson, 2012; Leistner, (Ed.), 2000; Bond and Goldblatt, 1984).
