    No, it is not running or rolling away! It is also not a spider in fancy dress obtained from a crazy store. Look, there is another one! The crinkly leaves in pale clusters give away the game.

    This is only the flower of a Fockea capensis plant, growing from a leaf axil. Not moving during its lifetime other than by wind or a destructive browser, it is held in position here for fruit follicles to form and release their winged seeds later (Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2010).
