    Author: Ivan Lätti

The fruit of Diosma prama has five barrel-shaped chambers, notably distinct from each other. Each chamber has at its tip a conspicuous tube-like protrusion ending in a ridged mouth. These tubes become 3 mm long.

In picture the pale, creamy green surface of the fruit is mottled darker green, while a maroon streak runs down the outside surface of each chamber. The seeds are small and black (Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2010; Bond and Goldblatt, 1984; iSpot; www.plantzafrica.com).
