    Euryops lateriflorus flowerheads
    Author: Ivan Lätti
    Photographer: Louis Jordaan

The photo shows the profusion of yellow Euryops lateriflorus flowerheads that may appear at bloomtime. Each erect stem has a floral cluster near its tip. Stem-tips carry on growing longer, bearing only leaves above the flowers until the next flowering.

Small dark spots, just above some of the leaf-tips, show where earlier flowerheads have disappeared, the stalks and maybe the fruits remaining.

One row of short, round-tipped involucral bracts around the shallow basal receptacle is found below the ray florets of each flowerhead (Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2015; iSpot).
