Eriocephalus africanus var. africanus flowerheads

The flowerheads of Eriocephalus africanus var. africanus have mauve to purple disc flowerhead centres. The white ray florets are female surrounding the male disc florets may also be pinkish on some plants. This plant was photographed in the Bo-Kouga during April (Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2015; iSpot).
