Crassula rubricaulis browned by the sun
    Author: Ivan Lätti
    Photographer: Thabo Maphisa

Leaf colouring on this somewhat flattened rosette of sharply ascending Crassula rubricaulis leaves has more brown than red to it. Where the angle of the sunlight brings shine to the surface, some fine mottling resulting in a surface roughness can be seen.

On some of the leaves, convex surfaces are only on the outside, the insides flat (Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2015).
