The leaves of Othonna triplinervia are crowded near the stem tips, spiralling up the stems. White scars remain on the stems where old leaves had dropped off.

The leaves are obovate to spathulate in shape with longish stalks and rounded tips. The leaf colour is glaucous or blue-green and thinly fleshy in texture. Although there are a few more lateral veins just visible, one on each side of the midrib is fairly conspicuous, giving the plant its specific name of triplinervia. The leaf margins are entire to sparsely toothed (Gledhill, 1981; http://pza.sanbi.org).
