    The small, green, cream and purple flowers of Colchicum eucomoides are clustered in a head-like raceme of about four flowers, nestling at ground level upon the bases of opposing bracts, their protective cover. The flowers are usually completely hidden under these broad bracts that tend to curve in over them.

    Flowering happens in winter or towards the latter half of it (Manning, 2007; Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2010).
