This Searsia laevigata var. laevigata forma laevigata branch has spirally arranged leaves on long petioles (but no petiolules on the leaflets). The leaves are spaced on the brownish stem that has a sparse covering of scattered, whitish lenticels.
This plant was seen growing in dense coastal scrub towards the eastern coast of Walker Bay. It also occurs in fynbos and karoid conditions, although not far inland (Coates Palgrave, 2002; Van Wyk and Van Wyk, 1997; iSpot).
