Corchorus confusus flower

The yellow flowers of Corchorus confusus grow solitary or in small clusters from leaf axils on short stalks.

The five spreading, wedge-shaped petals, broad with rounded tips, are shorter than the acutely pointed sepals visible in the gaps between them. The sepals are also yellow. The petals are clawed or shortly stalked. An ample cluster of delicate yellow stamens spread brush-like around the short yellow style. Flowering happens in summer.

The fruit capsules are pod-like on straight stalks. They are covered in bristles (Van Wyk and Malan, 1997; iSpot).
