Partly hidden among grass in a road reserve in the Overberg, this Watsonia aletroides plant was found flowering late in August.

Much of the renosterveld habitat of the species has been destroyed by farming. The plant is considered to be nearly threatened in its habitat early in the twenty first century (Manning, 2007; www.redlist.sanbi.org).
