The purple anthers of this Pelargonium desertorum flower nearly match the markings on the upper petals in colour. The closely cohering filaments are white. P. desertorum anthers may also be orange in colour, here oblong to wedge-shaped. The species produces up to seven fertile stamens, three of them having shorter filaments than the rest.
Dull blue blotches are present higher up on the upper petals, above the highest of the more sharply outlined, deep purple markings positioned lower down and closer together. The petal shape is narrowly oblong and longish to oblanceolate with rounded, rectangular, skewed or notched tips. The olive green insides of the sepals have pale margins and are strongly recurved.
The flower is about 12 mm in diameter, its pedicel from 2 cm to 3,5 cm long (Williamson, 2010; iNaturalist; www.namibrand.com).
