The upper petals of the Pelargonium sericifolium flower in picture are obovate and larger than the three below. The upper petal pair has tips that are not similarly shaped.
This upper pair is unmarked by darker patches, uniformly cerise coloured, apart from a little white at the base, more on the upper ones than the lower three. Cerise means cherry in French, referring to the colour. Not all cherries emulate this colour. The lower petals have darker patches from the base and over halfway to their rounded tips. Sericeous means covered with fine silky hair.
There is a white, branched stigma erect in the flower centre (Le Roux, et al, 2005; iNaturalist).
