The leaves of Pelargonium pulchellum grow from the base on short stalks, positioned nearly on the ground. Flower stems and leaf stalks are hairy.
The ovate to oblong leaves have notably lobed margins. The lobes are rounded, ending in pointed tips. The incisions separating them vary in depth. The dull to dark green leaf blades fold in along their midribs. They are covered in coarse hairs of which some are glandular. The leaf length is from 10 cm to 15 cm.
The plants are browsed by game and stock (Williamson, 2010; Le Roux, et al, 2005; Eliovson, 1990; iNaturalist).
