    The Struthiola ciliata flower tubes in picture, formed by the sepals are longitudinally striped, pink in some cases. The leaves are also striped and very hairy on the margins, slightly on the blades.

    The four subspecies of S. ciliata are not upheld consistently (Manning, 2007; iNaturalist).
