Not quite protruding, the anthers of the six stamens found in the mouth of each Lachenalia canaliculata perianth are pale brown and smooth or cream and fluffy in the photo.
Blackish patches have grown on the outside of the outer, shorter perianth segments, brown ones visible upon the longer, inner segments. The outer segments end abruptly without embellishment, the inner ones thin, rounded and curving out in an eye-catching pink-purple finish (Leistner, (Ed.), 2000; iNaturalist; www.pacificbulbsociety.org).
