    Senecio spiraeifolius plant
    Author: Ivan Lätti
    Photographer: Thabo Maphisa

There are few stem leaves and only small ones on the slender, branched flower stems of Senecio spiraeifolius plants. The erect stem, mainly purple in the photo but sometimes pale brownish, presents its flowers well above the dense foliage below.

This plant was seen near Nieuwoudtville during August (Manning and Goldblatt, 1997; iNaturalist).
