This Cheiridopsis denticulata plant has striking leaf differences. Some slender, oblong ones have smooth angular margins and keels, the tips abrupt with pointy mucros. Other leaves are shorter with more rounded keels and smooth entire margins or with one up to around five pointed teeth.

Variations and compromises between the two extreme forms are present on the same plant. All the leaf surfaces are smooth and pale grey, apart from those that have lost moisture as seen in faint surface wrinkling (Le Roux, et al, 2009; Manning, 2009; iNaturalist).
