    The base of the reddish purple Crassula nudicaulis var. platyphylla flower stem has decussate pairs of small stem-leaves. They are widely spaced on the smooth stem changing colour at the nodes.

    Leaf surface dots are more strongly present on the outside leaf surface than inside, while a waxy bloom is more evident on the stem than on the leaves (Frandsen, 2017; Smith, et al, 2017; Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2015).
