    Author: Ivan Lätti
    Photographer: Thabo Maphisa

The developing Cysticapnos vesicaria fruits in picture on arched, fleshy, pink stalks taper to tip and base, underway to their more ovoid mature shape. The dull green surfaces are slightly uneven.

The herbaceous plant material is generally soft and glabrous. The upper, underdeveloped leaves resemble tendrils; the plant being a climber (Leistner, (Ed.), 2000; iNaturalist).
