    Author: Ivan Lätti
    Photographer: Thabo Maphisa

The leaves of Erica walkeri grow spiralling densely around the slender stems or four-whorled. The leaves are long, thread-like and keeled to needle-like, curving in to their tips. Leaf colour is pale green to yellow-green overlap in a neat cylindrical shape around the upper stems.

The lower stems are bare, grey and woody (Manning and Helme, 2024; Bond and Goldblatt, 1984; iNaturalist; JSTOR).
