    Seen from the side, the Erica halicacaba leaves show the white grooves on their rounded lower surfaces where the margins are rolled under. The straight leaves are fairly blunt-tipped.

    These upper stem leaves mainly ascend slightly; they may also spread or occasionally angle down (Manning and Helme, 2024; Baker and Oliver, 1967; iNaturalist; http://pza.sanbi.org).
