Aloe hereroensis grows about thirty leaves per rosette. Stems are not common on this Aloe, sometimes seen on old specimens with dry leaves covering the base.
The lance-shaped or triangular leaves curve up and may recurve slightly near their tips, forming an S-shape. The upper surface is flat near the base, channelled higher up and blue-green, grey-green or reddish brown and faintly lined. The lower one is convex, marked in H-shaped spots. The average leaf is about 30 cm long and 6 cm wide.
The margins are cartilaginous, armed with brown, deltoid teeth up to 4 mm long and 9 mm apart. The teeth are sometimes notched or bifid, divided into two tips (Van Rooyen and Van Rooyen, 2019; Van Wyk and Smith, 2003; Reynolds, 1974; iNaturalist).
