    Moraea ochroleuca grows one, occasionally two leaves per season. They are long and narrow, channelled and arching, often trailing.

    Corms of this species do accumulate where the "pioneer" started, producing multiple plants in a clump as happened here.

    In picture the plants flower in recently burned veld. The speed with which the geophyte can perform floral feats compared to plants having to grow from seed after a veld fire using stored, underground resources is clearly illustrated here (Manning, 2007; Bean and Johns, 2005; Bond and Goldblatt, 1984; iNaturalist).
