    Pelargonium pinnatum inflorescence

    This photo of Pelargonium pinnatum taken near Hermanus shows a branching in the flower stalk to two umbels. Leaves and earlier inflorescences are brown and withered below, some fruiting having already taken place. Also brown in picture are some narrow, pointed sepals.

    The flowers are marked in dark red on the upper petal pair: feathery lines below and a blotch a short distance above that. The petals curve back, the lower ones more spoon-shaped than the bigger, upper ones that have some skewed tips and some approaching a flatter shape (Manning, 2007; iNaturalist).
