    The trunk of Euclea tomentosa may branch at or near the base and take an irregular shape, particularly in the constraints of the rocky surroundings common in its habitat.

    The bark on old stems is rough, longitudinally fissured and cracking into small irregular patches; grey to blackish grey in colour (Coates Palgrave, 2002; Bond and Goldblatt, 1984; iNaturalist).
