    The bark on upper branches of Euclea tomentosa is pale grey and smooth, apart from where small twigs had dropped off, and around bigger branching points. Coarseness starts in small, scattered spots.

    Whitish new growth is visible, emerging from some leaf axils in picture. The youngest shoots of this tree are covered in grey hairs (Coates Palgrave, 2002; Bond and Goldblatt, 1984; iNaturalist).
