This Eucomis schijffii plant presents an unusual colour scheme. The bracts are light green, only their margins narrowly purple. The upper bracts ascend, only the lower ones droop in their tips. The flowers are pale, although more greenish than white, cream or yellow. The big, flat leaves below are pale green with creamy yellow midribs.
But the substantial chunk of uncovered flower stalk below the inflorescence is dark and uniformly so, probably a deep purple or maroon appearing black in the photo.
