Eucomis schijffii pale plant, spotted stalk

All parts of this Eucomis schijffii plant are comparatively pale. Bracts, flowers, the almost hidden flower stem and the leaves all have both green and purple parts, none too bright.

In plant world this doesn’t matter. In people world colour differences may matter a lot, because people brains think up many matters and decide which matter. The seeds that may be set by this plant won’t conform to its particular colour scheme in possible offspring one day. Just like our own kids don’t sport identical colour schemes. And does that matter?
