Erepsia polita is an erect shrublet reaching heights from 25 cm to 50 cm.

The opposite, succulent leaves are narrow and triangular in cross-section, not fused at the base. There is an angled keel and a sharply pointed leaf-tip. The leaf surfaces are smooth and grey green. Leaf dimensions are up to 15 mm long and less than 5 mm wide.

The species distribution in the Western Cape is small, on parts of the northern slopes of the Langeberg Mountains and the Riviersonderend Mountains. The photo was taken southwest of Oudtshoorn.

The habitat is lower sandstone slopes in fynbos. The species is considered to be endangered in its habitat early in the twenty first century, due to habitat loss and decline (Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2015; Bond and Goldblatt, 1984; iNaturalist; http://redlist.sanbi.org).
