Erepsia lacera leaf pincers

The two sepals perpendicular to the last Erepsia lacera leaf pair (immediately below the bud) are longer than the ones on the flat sides of the bud in picture.

There is a keel with tiny teeth, in fact two of them diverging on the sepal surface facing the camera and absent from the lesser, lateral sepals.

The translucent leaf surface dots become visible against sunlight. The mucro or sharp tip found on every leaf is also present on every sepal tip (Smith, et al, 1998; Bond and Goldblatt, 1984; iSpot; www.plantzafrica.com).
