The young green fruit of Ehretia amoena are bigger and glossier than the smaller and duller green flower buds they sometimes share space with in the branched inflorescences.
The buds have ridges representing calyx lobes clutching what is to develop, the fruits topped by persistent styles. The youngest and smallest fruits from which the petals have just dropped off also have styles as well as calyces. The styles in the buds appear only when the flowers open (Coates Palgrave, 2002; Pooley, 1993; iNaturalist).
