Freesia refracta flowers

The pale yellow or cream flower of Freesia refracta consists of a longish and wide tube formed by the six tepals that are united low down. The corolla is two-lipped, meaning laterally symmetrical. The tepals are often marked in orange, green or dusky purple. A longitudinal, dark purple stripe, sometimes with a smaller extra one added, is present centrally on each of the lower three tepals.

Flowering happens from before midwinter to early spring (Curtis-Scott, et al, 2020; Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2015; Bond and Goldblatt, 1984; iNaturalist).
