    The long, thin ovaries of Eulophia zeyheriana flowers also serve as links or pedicels in the erect spike of flowers. The corollas are well removed from the central axis or stalk in the inflorescence, although not maximally, as the ovaries snake about a bit in languid style.

    The ovary in picture might appear like a piece of light purple hosepipe, if it weren’t for its bright glossy surface and deep, longitudinal furrowing (Manning, 2009; Pooley, 1998; iNaturalist).
