Euryops virgineus, the river resin bush, is a rounded, evergreen shrub growing many fairly straight branches. Proportions of a mature, stand-alone plant are about 3,5m tall by 1,5 m wide.

The leaves are tiny, dark green and palmate (fan-shaped) comprising 3 to 7 lobes. They are arranged opposite each other or sometimes spiralling along the upper stems.

A profusion of small, yellow, daisy flowers appears during late winter and spring, almost covering the shrub when growing in full sun.

The species distribution is mostly coastal in the Western Cape from Bredasdorp to Gqeberha in the Eastern Cape.

The habitat is variable, often fynbos slopes in moist, sandstone areas. The species is not considered to be threatened in its habitat early in the twenty first century (Manning, 2007; Moriarty, 1997; www.plantzafrica.com; http://redlist.sanbi.org).
