The leaves of Lycium cinereum grow in fascicles on the stems and small side-branches. The fascicles are sometimes well-spaced, given the variable aridity of the plants living conditions.
Leaf shape is narrowly elliptic to about linear. Leaf texture is smooth to finely hairy and slightly fleshy. Leaf dimensions are 7 mm to 17 mm by 1 mm to 2 mm.
This plant is unpalatable to livestock (Le Roux, et al, 2005; Bond and Goldblatt, 1984; iSpot).
