These bright red fruit of Lycium cinereum were seen during August in the Quiver Tree Forest between Loeriesfontein and Nieuwoudtville.

The ovoid fruits are well ripened. The green calyx lobe tips at the back are already damaged or lost, while the shiny fruit skins begin to show old fruit damage.

The quite thin, round-tipped, entire-margined leaves have no visible hairs, but some may be seen under magnification (Mannheimer and Curtis, (Eds.), 2009; Coates Palgrave, 2002; iNaturalist).
